Having learned from my Finch Farm and MechanistвЂ™s Lair builds, I did not want to use the вЂњgun glitchвЂќ so many times that this Settlement became unstable, so I reasoned out that the fence primarily protected the вЂњco-opвЂќ members and their shops while the Abernathy family still kept their own portion of land separated from the rest for privacy reasons. I probably rug/pillar glitched more in building that fence than in my last two builds put together! Unfortunately, just building the fence alone filled up my Settlement Meter once, so I wound up ending the fence short of the original farm and tower where the Abernathy family sleeps. After watching this video from the Skooled Zone on fencing, I wanted to practice the creation of a 'seamless' junk fence. It may seem odd to focus on a fence, but establishing the perimeter of my build area was my first priority.

The only mods I have installed are Creation Club skins for armor and the Pip Boy. This build was done on a Playstation 4 using the вЂњGame of the YearвЂќ edition with no building mods. The Abernathy family retains ownership and control of the land, however they provide space for people to place their businesses or provide services in exchange for a (relatively) safe place to live. She knew she could not restore the Commonwealth on her own, so a call was put out for those who would want to contribute to creating a Settlement that would be a cooperative effort among people from all different parts of the Commonwealth. Part of the Sole SurvivorвЂ™s mission to restore some semblance of order to The Commonwealth involves people being given second chances in life. Then one day I saw Wasteland DovahkiinвЂ™s Abernathy Farm Build and it totally clicked! In her build, Dovahkiin has a branch of the Atom Cats Garage at her Abernathy Farm and it made me think of a fun back story to base this build upon. I left Abernathy Farm alone for a long time because frankly, I had no idea what to do with it. Even better, the plot of land you have t work with is gigantic both in width and height. The location is a striking one as they have built their house into the base of an old transmission tower. They have a tragic story but also one that shows perseverance in the face of loss in the Wasteland. Early on in Fallout 4 you can come across a family at Abernathy Farm.
